EPLAN ePULSE: Impulses for your engineering
The new solution EPLAN ePULSE is a cloud based system that brings together data and projects, disciplines and engineers worldwide in a unique engineering network. Users can use their Internet browser to access applications that supplement the existing product world of the EPLAN platform with additional functions along the data-based value chain. It is planned that EPLAN ePULSE will be open for various file formats and interfaces to systems of other providers.
Link in the supply chain
"EPLAN ePULSE serves as a link in the supply chain of end customers, machine and plant suppliers and component manufacturers in industrial production," explains Sebastian Seitz, CEO of EPLAN and Cideon.
"We are developing our cloud offerings in an agile way and keeping an eye on our customers' needs," explains Sebastian Seitz, CEO of EPLAN and Cideon. EPLAN ePULSE serves as a link in the supply chain of end customers, machine and plant suppliers and component manufacturers in industrial production. The project data stored in EPLAN ePULSE serve both as a system description for the company's own production and for customer documentation of all automation-relevant aspects of the digital twin.
"In the age of digitalization, our customers are thus relying on 100% digital data," continues the company boss.
To this end, solution provider EPLAN has created a new cloud unit that provides fresh impetus in the style of today's think tanks. Here, experiments are carried out and discussed in context with customers and partners. Not every idea sees the light of day afterwards, but the motto is clear: lateral thinking is expressly desired.
EPLAN eView enables a continuous redlining workflow between engineering and downstream processes such as production and maintenance. Project data is always available in the cloud.
Cloud based systems from EPLAN at a glance:
- The engineering projects created in the EPLAN platform can now be made available in the cloud via EPLAN eView. Project data can be viewed anywhere and at any time. For example, production employees and service technicians can use the redlining function to store change information in the circuit diagram.
- The EPLAN Data Portal offers web-based access to high-quality product catalogs from numerous component manufacturers. All solutions anchored in the EPLAN platform have equal access to this web service. The simple drag-and-drop transfer of the offered components into the EPLAN documentation reduces the project planning effort and increases the quality of the machine and system documentation.
- In future, the cloud version of EPLAN Cogineer will also allow schematics to be compiled from a template library with just a few clicks directly in the browser. The new version EPLAN Cogineer Advanced offers additional functions: The reading in of configuration variables and value sets as well as the simple reuse of sub-functions, which considerably simplifies the creation of models.
Background:
Cloud solutions are a proven means of driving the standardization of data and processes. In engineering, this goes hand in hand with new opportunities for process optimization and an increase in quality at both product and process level. After all, all parties involved work on a uniform data basis - optionally also across the supply chain. The cloud as a central exchange point for relevant engineering data serves as a fast access point, which extremely simplifies access to high-quality digital data from any location. With EPLAN ePULSE, companies can maintain their own competitiveness with clear potential for long-term success.
